Job Application Process

I've recently went for a job interview about 3 weeks ago. 2 weeks ago they called me and said I was selected for the 2nd interview and told me to wait for call. Until now I still havent received any calls yet. What should I do?

you can drop an email, or give a polite call to ask about the status.
I would do that.

If the HR said they will contact me once the salary package is approved, meaning I am selected for this job?

i also have the same qtn... if hr called me to clarify some qtns regarding my current company and informed me that they need to contact my company hr to do reference check before giving me an offer. does this mean im most likely getting an offer? i was told it will take a few weeks for these checks.
