I will be joining a local bank in back office as a fresh grad and hope to seek advice from users here from related industry.

1. How long does it usually take to advance from analyst to associate?
2. Is technology in bank a career for the long haul?

Prospects of promotion are next to zero. With the hordes of Indian, Filipino, and PRC FTs, do you stand a chance? Most of the managers prefer to hire, retain, and promote their own race. You don't stand a chance.

Not to mention the risk of your job going to Manila. Then no promotion for you, and you will need to look for another job which will go to India.

Mostly 3rd party contractors were the ones given the boot. Employees are safe for now. But they've downsized enough to release their floor at CBP and relocate the remaining staff at MBFC
