Need some views
I am currently a diploma holder and working full-time in the marketing function of a real estate company since May 2011 while taking a part-time degree. I will be graduating in 2015 and by then I would have 4 years of working experience.
I am trying to switch job now and people have been telling me that my "real career progression" only starts after I got my degree in 2015. So the working experiences before getting a degree is invalid, have no advantage over degree holders with no working experience and thus commanding the same pay. Is this the norm? |
Correct
Most unfortunately that is correct.
Simple reason being that if not that will put education study a waste. Eg : people might as well start work at 12, take part time O level, part time diploma, part time degree and have an unmatched number of working experience as compared to those who study all the way direct till degree. |
depends. pro local uni companies will likely to disregard your working experience, after all they go for academic qualifications. u can tell by their job requirement and how they handle your application and interview
