Tax Profession
Hi all,
I have no idea about taxation, but I am currently exploring my interests. Just want to find out more about this profession:
1) What are the qualifications necessary to enter taxation, apart from a Law or accountancy degree?
2) Will it be difficult for a person (e.g., 32 years old with 7 years working experience in another field) to make a mid-career switch to become a tax professional?
3) What are the roles or job scope of taxation professionals?
4) What is the difference between a tax professional in a private firm, versus a civil servant working in IRAS? Are the skill-sets and expertise transferable? Should a person who intend to pursue career in taxation start by working in IRAS?
Thanks in advance for the sharing!
