How much does a nurse earn ?
Hi ,
I need help from the nurses out there I have a friend who just completed her Nursing cert at ITE She has been offered a space to carry on her diploma in Nursing However, she is in her 30s and she already spent 2 years to convert to become a nurse. Her starting pay is $1500 (bonded for 2 years ) She is in a dilemma as to whether to continue her diploma which takes another 2 years or to work first Question 1) is the pay for diploma and ITE cert nursing very far apart ? 2) does the private sector pay better than the public 3) What is the prospect if you enter nursing with just a ITE cert and not having a diploma ? Thanks |
Fresh Diploma in nursing sld be ard low 2k. prospect wise, it's obvious having a dip will allow u to go higher. But even a dip won't get u very far.

Nursing was accidentally mentioned as a low-skilled job by the government in the not too recent past. So what do you think.

Since she is bonded, it means she is being sponsored for her studies right? why not? eventually she has to get her diploma, without a minimum diploma, she won't be able to promote. And if its sponsored for, just go and do it la.

Nurses are good job, dun play play. Studying nursing work a few years in SG and you can easily migrate to Canada, NZ, Australia cos there is shortage and high demand for nurses there. Then you can live the good life in ang mo kok ka.

fyi, nursing is one of the skilled professions which there is free flow of labour among the asean countries after the integration at the end of 2015. not sure the exact policies will be in place though.
the professions are engineering, architectural, surveying, nursing, medical, dental, and accounting services |
