Degree in Nursing is still a degree not that easy also. Study things like medical administration, injections, intravenous administration, infection control, tube feedings, various Singapore health laws/acts, nutrition, feeding, pain management, physical assessment of adult/child, vital sign monitoring, newborn care, wound care. What make you thing easy to be nurse? Especially degreed nurse??

Best course to emigrate cos many countries are short of qualified nurses. With degree and experience in nursing you can migrate to Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand very easily cos its under the 'skilled labour' criteria.
thought u mean easy to migrate to other courses.
sure anot....thought just learn to do manual work and take care of patients.....not sure why NUS wants to have nursing course....
anyway very easy to enter right?

Alot of things to learn leh.. you see the sylallabus:

Bachelor of Science (Nursing) / Bachelor of Science (Nursing) (Honours) | NUS Registrar's Office

Singapore got so many new hospitals of course need a nursing course. For those who wanna study medicine but cannot qualify can go study nursing lol. Think quite easy to enter. But if your JC score is E E E probably cannot.

Because ppl will always look at possible career path or progression when they choose courses. As such, it govt wanna encourage ppl to enter healthcare as nurses, one of the best ways is to provide them the opportunity to further their studies aside from giving better compensation. Also, having a degree course for nursing also will help to change ppls' perspective of the job.

In my opinion, if you wanna study nursing, pls really ask yourself if you have the passion for healthcare and can you take long working hours. Healthcare doesn't offer good salary but stable salary. It is really an important decision since once you enter nursing, it will be difficult to switch field by using it as a general degree.

if you can't even differentiate "migrate" from "emigrate", I don't think you have the necessary language skills to emigrate.

Basically, I am interested in business related stuffs, specifically investments(bonds, stocks, etc) and also being an retail entrepreneur myself. What type of jobs is suitable for me? I am looking towards investment bankers but I've gathered the fact that it's extremely hard to get into front office. With regards to my degree, what should I pursue? I am interested in taking up NUS BBA or BBA(Accountancy) because I feel the 4 years allow me the time to learn and grow. I currently have a reserved place in NUS Chemical Engineering and after much detailed thinking, I realized the fact that I cannot see myself working at plant. Should I take ACCA now? Because I've the time and I realized now I can get a head start if I were to do ACCA. Overall, I am extremely interested in the areas of investment, banking&finance and other areas such as marketing etc. Please advice, and I hope to learn more from the seniors here.
Are you serious? Putting your education and indirectly future into some posts and texts on the internet?

Secondly, it seems that you are unsure about your interest, flying around here and there. Interest in marketing, taking acca and doing investment banking. Whoa that is alot more than one could chew. Just continue with your chemical engineering course. Whats wrong with working in plant? Not glamorous and prestigious enough is it?

However if you really feel the desire to join the business side, instead of switching course now, an alternative would be attend those business related activities and clubs in NUS. See where you interest truely lies, upon graduation work a few years at plant before making the switch. Why work in plant first, well unless you do work in a chemical plant before and experience things first hand, otherwise it is just your perception of the job. At least give it a shot and a chance before moving off. Who knows you might just miss the chemical plant lifestyle?

ITE nurses work in old folks home, nursing homes and public hospitals.

Graduate nurses work in private hospitals, specialist centres and assist doctors in major operations.
