I wanted to apply but that after further research I realized the graduates are so underpaid and the progression here sucks, and the skills and knowledge aren't transferrable, so poor future prospects too.
End up I didn't even bother.

I would imagine working in SGX would open you up to roles in financial services (banks, funds etc), no?

Nope. SGX is an exchange. Mostly you will be doing operations related work and you cant extrapolate this to FI

There are several departments though. From how I see it, roles in Investor Relations, Due Diligence, Compliance, Trade Support, Business Development are all viable in FIs.
Personally witnessed many people with exp from exchanges (not just SGX) in these roles.
