Yup. I wonder how the projects will continue. This situation is really bad. My side E5 still safe.

Heard on new hires (hired during 2019 and currently without a project) got affected.
Those with projects are safe.

Most of the others I've heard that got affected had Band 3 grade for the previous appraisal.

Not necessary true. People with band 2 also affected.

Is the situation very bad? What would be the chances of people in a large scale project getting retrenched? is it very possible?

This first round they are just inviting a pool of people and ask them to leave. You can choose to take the offer or not. If the number of people leaving does not hit the quote, they will go for second phase.

He will tell those people if they chose to leave now, they are eligible for severe cd package. If they insisted to remain, and the quote is not met, they met be invited again and this time with worse package.
