There was also a very long period of time (ard 2001 - 2007) that the service experience zero market adjustment.

I'm not sure if u're consider lucky batch. During my time (2003), fresh grads started from low $2K - $2.8K. But I got 5-rm only at $180K+. Now valuation at least $580-620K.

Now start pay at $3K+. Last I heard from my young colleagues that price is already more than doubled to $380K+ for new 5-rm flat. Not sure if you can experience the same 3x rise in your property value.

Furthermore, I heard $380K+ is in not so good location, My flat is just 10min walk to MRT.

this is a salary forum...No one is discussing your house and its location.

If that's still not enough, after working for ~5 yrs, our 2nd child came along. By then, we've saved enough to afford our 1st brand new family 1.6L sedan at $50K+ (which I'm still driving now). We paid in full and still have a healthy 5-figure balance in bank. Not sure if you still can do the same for your batch.

I grad in Jun 2004 and started working in Jan 2005, starting pay as a fresh grad was just 2K. I bought a 4-room flat in 2006 and it cost $320k but it is now worth around $750k since the location is v good at redhill and just opposite the MRT. We bought a 1.8 honda in 2008 for only $70K which we are still driving now and it costs $140K to buy one now hahahahaha what a joke. Oh and we have 3 kids.

Oh My God....u are better off than CSLee.

But wait. CSLee has one final triumph card. His degree is not sub-standard but yet he could work in the civil service. Can you beat that?
