As an employer who has done a fair bit of interviewing/hiring, I think uni students should take their internship more seriously. I think relevant internship experience adds more value to a resume than overseas exchange experience.

Hello, whoever you are, from which part of the stuffs I said here stated that I'm not taking my attachment seriously?? I want to go oversea exchange is my own problem. Why do you care? If you can make the university change their policy of replacing attachment with two semesters worth of AUs I would love to do it. Why did you make such a statement saying Univeristy students are not taking their attachment seriously, maybe your interviewing skills need to improve, choosing and hiring the wrong candidates. Please don't categorise the black sheep with the elites or serious students together. My English may not be perfect but I think you should be smart enough to get what I mean. IM NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR STUPID COMMENTS!!

You obviously had not gone for an overseas exchange before. Let me tell you that an overseas exchange brings enlightenment.

rubberbus, where are you going? It would actually be best if you are able to secure an overseas internship as opposed to finding an internship here.

A EEE internship here in sg is worthless. The industry is service driven more than product engineering driven. Hence, there are very few capable EEE engineers around. Companies here treat interns as cheap labour and not as future engineers. So there is very little value added.

Eh keyboard warrior, you can assume whatever you want. But let me provide you the fact so that you can stop assuming. The fact is the school didn't manage to get enough attachment placing for the students this time round. Due to my exchange program, I need to do it this holiday and since its a last minute issue I won't be in the school database for an attachment placing. I need to outsource myself but i hardly can name any engineering companies. That's why im looking for help here.

Next, I have no idea what I said previously would makes you think that no one want to hire me. I'm just protecting myself, keeping my stand from negative comments made on me. Even it's you, I believe you don't like it too.

Why am I bothering to explain myself here. Well, I got too much time to spare. Bye
