thanks in advance
Aspiring vopak technicians cannot tell the difference between forum topics and just ask aimlessly. They also post their question twice, just in case the internet message board works like a telephone just in case someone didn’t hear him the first time around.

for fresh grad application? commercial or technical track?

just some background: I applied for commercial track and went for HR Interview already. Heard there is one more round of interview this month but have not received any updates from HR yet. Was just wondering if anyone is in the same shoes as me?

I wouldn’t touch the job, not even with a 10 ft. pole.

Seriously, many of the contract staff I’ve spoken to have great difficulty in getting a perm position. Unless of course, you’re thinking of taking the contract as a stepping stone for bigger plans ahead. Else, might as well work for other giant MNCs.

I don’t mean to belittle you but failing the lung function test has nothing to do with your firefighter and physical fitness background. You could have gone through the whole National Service ordeal with a lesser than average lung function but did not realise it was so.

But, maybe your technique was wrong. The sad thing about the lung function test is that they do not get you to do it multiple times. Which means that if you messed up and understood the instructions wrongly, you can’t have another go. Maybe you should contact the clinic to ask if you could take it once more.

It’s best to see a specialist just to be on the safe side. You could see this as a good opportunity to learn whether or not you actually have a below average lung function.
