Risk Management

Hi All,

Would there be anyone be kind to advise me on this?

Total 3 years working experience. 1 year in compliance, 2 years in risk management. I'm supporting the treasury division on Financial Institution Credit Risk & Counterparty Credit Risk. I'm also a Chartered FRM.

How much would I be drawing if I jump to my next job, similar scope and function?

Thanks in advance.

I am also interested to know how much can a compliance officer get in a bank after 3 years of working?

For foreign banks basic should be 120k, plus bonus 160k+

Compliance no where near astronomical bonuses

Compliance is back office. Risk management should be middle office. When it is said compliance officer, it could be an analyst doing back office work.

120k for foreign banks sounds possible but not probable. My opinion is that you won't be anywhere close to that for a local bank.

I would disagree with the 160k bonus even for a foreign bank. Seriously? Standard consensus among the bankers, large bonuses are tied to the revenue generating departments of the bank, that is trading, sales, M&A, IPO or the front office jobs. Compliance and Risk Management is not in that area.

Short anecdote - I know a guy fairly well working at JPMorgan back office, a role booking the booking of trades for the traders. Not sure whether it is similar to that of the original poster. Anyway, granted that he was only there for a year plus, if he knew he was going to get 120k with a 160k bonus in two years time, I'm pretty sure he'll stay. :)

Please don't get confuses that ANY job in a bulge bracket bank equals a 100k salary.

I would say at least 100k base, maybe more for tier 1 global banks.

Prospect not as good as FO, but stay in the industry long enough hitting 300k all-in should be no problem.

Ohhhh you are doing FI credit risk. And how much are you drawing now? Jumping to another bank's FI credit prolly maybe 10-20% increment ba depending on whether you are drawing below market or market rate now.

I am doing corporate credit risk, 1.5 years exp in back office ops, 2 years RM exp, 4.5 years credit exp. annual is ~ 76k excluding bonuses.

Yup, this is a little more accurate. Just curious, your bonus about half your annual?
