CAD Designer - Am I underpaid?
I'm currently working in a construction firm MNC doing CAD design. I have 12 years experience in this. Basically I draw using AutoCAD. My current pay is $3100/mth and my annual package includes AWS and 0.25% bonus. Can anyone advise whether I'm underpaid?

If it's just taking orders and drawing to specs using AutoCAD $3100 is already very generous. Most freshie in constructions sector go in at $2000-$2400, so the extra $700-$1100 is sort of recognise your long service.

Thank you. Feeling very stagnant at my current role. I wish to have more involvement in engineering tasks and not JUST draw.
Any previous CAD drafters can share experience of how they move up from doing drafting to more challenging roles?

Most exotic parts are designed and simulated by aerospace/material science engineers, which after they will pass the design to CAD designers to generate the physical output.
I dun think its related to your area of experience

you should join more advanced and high demand industry. ppl with 12 yrs of work exp will already reach at least 9k if no bad performance.
