Hi,

Thank for the sharing! I apply for HASE position in Aug and deadline is 1st September 2013. Unfortunately, till now there is no call up. I guess I don't meet the academic requirement which Home Affairs is looking for. I only have double major degree (PASS degree).

I'm actually looking forward to join Home Affairs IT department if I am shortlisted. I have IT and business background as well as a bit of working experience with IRAS.

Wondering I am eligible enough to meet the cut?

Regards,

Angel

FYI about the HASE scheme.

Ministry of Home Affairs - Ministry of Home Affairs

Pay Structure

They have put up a FB page https://www.facebook.com/CaptainsOfLives seems they are hiring uniformed prisons officers all year round..

Has anyone applied for the technology positions posted late-Sep?

Ministries value the exp from uniform group?

Since uniform group like SPF, SCDF have senior officers.. If they choose to leave the force, are they able to apply for HASE? Any such cases? And do they have to re apply in careers gov or can ask for internal transfer?
Some cases I heard from recruitment was that they were injured and downgraded and was ask to take up civilian role eager than stay on in the uniform group as the are stuck not being able to take ippt again etc...
Pay cut is inevitable though...

But question is whether uniform senior officers can convert to HASE?

I would like to check the prospect of working in ISD and how's the pay like? (Basic, bonus and etc)

I have two choices now. ISD or SITSA (MHA IT Security dept).
My question is do both of them command the same pay structure? Because from what i know, engineers scheme in govt sector are paid 200-300 more than the usual MX scheme.

Engineer Scheme for 2013:
1st class - 4270
2nd upper - 3970
2nd lower - 3770

Any input will be greatly appreciated. :)

My fren (a male, NS, 2nd Lower) with about 10mths of working experience (somehow related) to jobs applied for.. was offered a position under HASE..

He said that he was offered around 3.6K -3.7K, starting at MX13....

A year later (after confirmation) likely to promote to MX12 (pay will be around 5K).

Is it realistic?

I have been working a few yrs in pte... Think it is quite impossible...

I am a Male, graduated in 2008 (during recession year), working in Financial sector (AML/CFT) area and only earning around 4.5K. That's really unfair....

Home Team Specialist Scheme

Anyone know more info about this scheme? Is it the same as HASE in terms of grading system ?

Nothing is fair in life..

3.6-3.7k for starting seems slightly high for fresh grad/10mths working exp.. somewhere around 3.3-3.4k perhaps..

but to jump from 3.6-3.7k to 5k in 1 yr is complete BS. expect a 200-300 increase maybe.

I second that. Your friend is BS you when he say MX12 commands 5k with just 2 years exp. Usually promotion to MX12 is after a year's service, but salary increment will not be that much. Unless he's lucky that there's another round of market adjustment for civil service across the board.

In my opinion, he'll be getting 4.2k after promotion to MX12.

Actually I think the 5k might not be totally false.. If you guys refer to earlier posts (on this thread), some one mentioned that his friend (MHA Scholar) is also in this scheme.. I understand that this scheme is sth like a MA program (rotation within the ministry), could it be due to this nature that they offer higher pay compared to normal civil servants (also on MX scheme)?

My good friend just got offered by SCDF, logistics dept, non-uniformed role. Looks like in the HASE scheme. He is has 2 yrs working exp and going in as MX12 with a pay of about 3.5... So the 5k thing definitely BS.

Anyway he only got 3rd class honors... just an encouragement to those applying :)
