Hi,

Thank for the sharing! I apply for HASE position in Aug and deadline is 1st September 2013. Unfortunately, till now there is no call up. I guess I don't meet the academic requirement which Home Affairs is looking for. I only have double major degree (PASS degree).

I'm actually looking forward to join Home Affairs IT department if I am shortlisted. I have IT and business background as well as a bit of working experience with IRAS.

Wondering I am eligible enough to meet the cut?

Regards,

Angel

FYI about the HASE scheme.

Ministry of Home Affairs - Ministry of Home Affairs

Pay Structure

They have put up a FB page https://www.facebook.com/CaptainsOfLives seems they are hiring uniformed prisons officers all year round..

Has anyone applied for the technology positions posted late-Sep?

haiz2006 09-10-2013 11:48 PM

Ministries value the exp from uniform group?

Since uniform group like SPF, SCDF have senior officers.. If they choose to leave the force, are they able to apply for HASE? Any such cases? And do they have to re apply in careers gov or can ask for internal transfer?
Some cases I heard from recruitment was that they were injured and downgraded and was ask to take up civilian role eager than stay on in the uniform group as the are stuck not being able to take ippt again etc...
Pay cut is inevitable though...

But question is whether uniform senior officers can convert to HASE?

I would like to check the prospect of working in ISD and how's the pay like? (Basic, bonus and etc)

I have two choices now. ISD or SITSA (MHA IT Security dept).
My question is do both of them command the same pay structure? Because from what i know, engineers scheme in govt sector are paid 200-300 more than the usual MX scheme.

Engineer Scheme for 2013:
1st class - 4270
2nd upper - 3970
2nd lower - 3770

Any input will be greatly appreciated. :)

My fren (a male, NS, 2nd Lower) with about 10mths of working experience (somehow related) to jobs applied for.. was offered a position under HASE..

He said that he was offered around 3.6K -3.7K, starting at MX13....

A year later (after confirmation) likely to promote to MX12 (pay will be around 5K).

Is it realistic?

I have been working a few yrs in pte... Think it is quite impossible...

I am a Male, graduated in 2008 (during recession year), working in Financial sector (AML/CFT) area and only earning around 4.5K. That's really unfair....

Home Team Specialist Scheme

Anyone know more info about this scheme? Is it the same as HASE in terms of grading system ?

Nothing is fair in life..

3.6-3.7k for starting seems slightly high for fresh grad/10mths working exp.. somewhere around 3.3-3.4k perhaps..

but to jump from 3.6-3.7k to 5k in 1 yr is complete BS. expect a 200-300 increase maybe.

I second that. Your friend is BS you when he say MX12 commands 5k with just 2 years exp. Usually promotion to MX12 is after a year's service, but salary increment will not be that much. Unless he's lucky that there's another round of market adjustment for civil service across the board.

In my opinion, he'll be getting 4.2k after promotion to MX12.

Unregistered 16-01-2014 01:58 PM

Actually I think the 5k might not be totally false.. If you guys refer to earlier posts (on this thread), some one mentioned that his friend (MHA Scholar) is also in this scheme.. I understand that this scheme is sth like a MA program (rotation within the ministry), could it be due to this nature that they offer higher pay compared to normal civil servants (also on MX scheme)?

Unregistered 22-01-2014 11:56 PM

My good friend just got offered by SCDF, logistics dept, non-uniformed role. Looks like in the HASE scheme. He is has 2 yrs working exp and going in as MX12 with a pay of about 3.5... So the 5k thing definitely BS.

Anyway he only got 3rd class honors... just an encouragement to those applying :)

will like to find out if MHA accepts males with BSc business pass degree from uniSIM and PES E9L9 for the HASE scheme?

thanks

Unregistered 15-04-2014 08:07 PM

I just applied HASE with SPS. I got a part-time SIM IT degree with 10 years of working experience. The job nature is quite related to what I am currently doing. Not sure whether I stand a chance. FYI, I am holding a 3K+ basic salary in private sector. I hope to get an interview soon. :)

Unregistered 15-04-2014 10:45 PM

That post was for my branch in sps.. u will have a very hard time vying for that post as there is also a contract staff there applying for that post.. must sell urself well i guess..

liverpoolfan 28-04-2014 07:31 PM

Hey guys, anyone familiar with the hiring process of HASE with Prisons?

I went for my interview in mid february and got an email on the same day that I have cleared their interview and required me to go for my medical check up asap.

I received a letter from VITAL on the following monday and therefore completed my medical by the end of february. It has now been 2 months now since i've completed my medical and according to the recruitment officer, I am still pending admin clearance.

Any idea how long does it actually take for admin/security clearance? Also, the status of my application is still stating "shortlisted". Am not exactly getting anxious but really would like to know how long the process is usually like.

thanks!

liverpoolfan 06-05-2014 07:00 PM

Bump for the thread :)

Unregistered 08-05-2014 10:57 PM

Any idea if emailing HR would give you a better chance of getting in?

Unregistered 09-05-2014 11:32 AM

MSO Diploma enter ad MSO6.. ITE enter as MSO8.. all these are fresh, unless have experience than can enter straight go higher grade.. MX aslo same, if they recognise ur experience than straight go in MX12.. but experience here means mostly 5 years and above..

Unregistered 24-05-2014 02:54 PM

Hi, anyone can enlighten me on the hase recruitment process? I just got an offer but not sure what is the recruitment process & timeline like?

Do they send you a written confirmation offer right after they call you? or do you have to wait to go for medical checkup before any further confirmation?

Thank you all for your help in advance!

Nothing much

Give a 5 min intro about hase n give u the current list of openings that they have n ask you to indicate your first 3 preferances

Based on that then they let u know if you are shortlisted for round 1

I see. Thanks thanks. I do know you get into the HASE scheme by directly applying to other home team departments as well.

I guess first round is by HR and the second round is by the department in which you indicated your interest. I attended something similar to MHA HASE interview by other ministry before.

Probably expecting those general interview qn and some maybe weird qn?

Unregistered 09-09-2014 10:26 AM

Did anyone go for the interview for the HASE position?

I saw the position was re-posted on careers@gov this morning.

Chesed 16-09-2014 10:45 AM

Hi, I received an invitation for the 3rd visit (2nd interview), 3 weeks after the 1st interview.

Can I know what to expect? Ie. Who will the panel consist of? What kind of questions will be asked?

Any help is very appreciated, thanks!

Your 2nd interview is probably be held at the department or unit that is hiring you. It's just like another normal job interview. It's likely to be a panel interview by the hiring unit/ department or the senior management.

hi guys, my gp and olvl english is quite bad....did not meet the req. should i still try? does it matter alot?

Unregistered 13-10-2014 12:16 AM

Does the salary differ from the different uniform groups? From the different websites, seems like HASE under SPS starts at a higher base than those under SPF. Just wondering if either one of the websites not updated or there really is a slight difference..

Nope. There aren't any difference. They all follow the MX scheme.

Anyone here waiting for them to get back after first round?
