I do think 30% paycut is significant...trying to weigh it out against stability and other factors.
Both have pros and cons.

Once the paycut is taken, it will be difficult to get back the old pay.
If I take the contract job, it may be tough to get a perm role next time and potential instability thereafter.
The contract is 1 year and might be extended.

They have a budget set for the role.
The role sounds rather junior but yet they are looking for 10+ years of experience.

what kind of jobs you all looking for? recruiter here, but not from agency, direct employer one.

I see.. so have you decided which one to go for? Both the companies allow you to take so long to decide?

by the way anyone have any experience in working for a Jap MNC (toshiba) in Singapore before? was wondering if this can lead to opportunities to other MNCs from US or Europe a few years down the road..
