Default Skillfuture salary range

Hi does anyone know if the salary ranges indicated on the JobsBank/Skillsfuture jobs site are accurate or not reliable? Anyone from HR can share?

Thanks

I only believe the lower end. No way that NTU (for example) can pay up to 8k for a manager. 8k more likely director.

Today marks one year since my final year exams ended last year. Still unable to grasp a perm job. Not sure what to feel as now, I have to compete with my friends and 'fresher' graduates graduating this year...

Anyone can suggest how/where to apply for jobs properly? Not sure if I am doing something wrong.

CareerGov totally rejects all my application probably due to bad grades. JobStreet mostly agents will call but nothing fruitful so far. My applications seem to go through a blackhole.
For applications directly to companies I want, I edit my resume according to JD but not much to amend anw since my job exp is almost negligible.
What is worst is that recent job postings is mostly for Manager/Director/Senior positions. Entry level is for diploma and below.
What happened to the degree entry level positions man?

Am I suppose to take extra certs or something? Currently my contract job is ending in 2 months, and the company is unable to open headcount too...Time is ticking away too fast.

I shortened your quote but I feel your pain.

My young cousins are also getting sick of gaming by now... And parents cut their allowance to force them out of the door... Haha

Have you considered internship, temp to perm... There's a thread here devoted to all the programs to apply to. My cousins said their friends got perm position thru temp work n internship after they put in effort to network. My cousins are sadly quite introvert just like their parents. Getting a job this way allows the dept head to ignore your grades and focus on your abilities on the job.

When you apply for job, since your grades are average, don't include the transcript in the initial application unless they demand for it.
Do your homework on the company and point out a thing or two that is problematic in your opinion and how you think it can be overcome. If straightforward cannot get the job then try to be critical! What have you got to lose after 1 year anniversary.
Put this in a solid cover letter, send it to the CEO if u can find it, CC to the HR.

Im sorry to hear that this company, temp to perm isn't working out. Try 1 step further, ask if they know of their industry partners hiring. If u have been performing well, any kind boss won't mind making a call or two to try.

Like I said, you have nothing to lose, except your sanity

Would you like to share your qualification and preferred field? You never know someone may just post something useful.

I fee that all portals crawl the Web and pull the same data.

People who I know get calls really fast, no secret... Honours from the best uni s.

If the problem is even getting a call... Overhaul your cover and resume. Read up on keywords to beat the HR systems. 90% of poorly worded profiles get deleted by software. Cannot be nothing to write.. It reflects on your mindset that you have nothing to show and your boss feels you are nothing to consider.
It is absolutely morale shattering by now, but I urge you to pick yourself up and go for free resume/cover writing talks.. Every uni has it coz I frequently go to uni s in the west.. Its all free. Some even offer 1-1 consult. Some are exclusive for their students but when there's a will there's a way.

Another person posted above wrote about taking a different approach, it's true, you have nothing to lose right.

Don't wait until June.. Hiring would have slowed to a crawl.

I guess many openings are not exactly real openings. If you see the same job appearing for months, something is not as what have you thought. They could have rejected you, but can't possibly they have rejected hundreds other candidates too. Likely these jobs have been filled internally way before you have applied, but the posting is just... for show.

Even though I have 10 years of work experience and armed with multiple degrees with excellent grades, I'm too not getting a single call, though each resume I wrote to fit the JD and even used apps to test match them against the JD, still...

And guess what... after long periods of searching, the ones I finally got invited for interviews were those which I was referred in, using a generic resume and no cover letter. *ironic, huh?*

So it is time to put down your pride and shyness. Go send a "Hi how are you?" message to your friends who are working somewhere now. Ask them out for a coffee chat and get their help to pass your resume internally to the HR. Almost 90% of the time, internal referral will get you an interview, which you can then speak to the hiring manager to showcase what you have.

Good one! The power of networking. For me, networking didn't help much unfortunately. What really helped was my customised cover letter, master degree, strong reference and swallowing my pride to ask for the job at the interview to pay the bills.

Congrats for landing the job! We did it somehow. Finally after so long I sleep well.

How did you “ask for the job”?
Any adjustment to pay?
