If your boss calls you names, deliberately step you down, etc, then I will consider that 'swallowing pride' but if it is not serious, better to find a job first
I agree that being a 5 min hero is definitely not worth it. There are many '5 min heroes' who regret being one and have to be miserable for the next 5 months.

I am jobless for nearly 1 year now. Graduate from local uni with good honors.
Paper rotting already. Didnt make it through about 4-5 MA programs interview stages. Always passed 1st or 2nd round, then didnt make it on the next round. Thats why so prolonged period. Jobstre*t really useless. Apply so many but little replies.
Any help or tips in job search methods & in interviews for me? Any advice will be deeply appreciated.
Thanks.

Looking at your situation MA is way beyond your league now. Try to lower your expectations and take up contract, part time or sales jobs first.
It is more important to be employed with experience then go jobless for years with a useless honours degree. The longer you are unemployed the harder it is to get a job - nobody likes to hire someone left on the shelf too long.

Yes, I am now so worried as I have terrible spending habits. I am in a line where mathematical acumen is appreciated but I am lazy to finance plan my spending and savings. You would think a professional like me have it mapped out, but no, I am clueless whats comes in and out of my accounts and though I am prudent since I started work, I dont track my spend closely and never fix a savings amount. I am also not asset rich. If I go jobless now, I doubt I will be able to survive long enough to upkeep allowance to my parents.
I can only hope I get a good offer from now till year end and with a good company and understanding boss. (skyhigh expectations I know )

To be honest, what they said is true. Comparing your plight to many others (e.g. no money to pay utilities, caregiver problem, no roof over their head etc.) who visit their MPs, yours pale in comparison.
There is some merit in studying for PhD (provided you can make the cut), as you will be upgrading yourself, plus you will have allowance (at least $2.5k per month). Most people that study PhD in Singapore are on scholarships anyway.
And lastly, finding a job for yourself is your own responsbility and no one else. It is not a given that people must help you find a job. Unless you pay them to do so. Reset your expectations, and don't expect to find a perfect job. Not unless you have stellar credentials and experience to back you up. The world is a global village, and we have to compete with everyone else over the world for jobs in Singapore. That is the new norm.
