That is because you are brainwashed by the "passion" ******** America was sending out in the 90s. The "Dawn of the New Age Thinking" or "The Secret" and all that nonsense. Look around research papers about passion and success and the results are roughly the same. Being passionate about the job has very little correlation with your success at the job. Only a few miserable percent of people found success with their passions. There are a few reasons.

1. Passion is fluid. You may love your job this week, but hate it next week.
2. People who follow their passion tend to choose jobs with high failure rates. For example, musicians or fashion designers, etc...
3. No correlation between passion and competence. Just because you like to wear brand clothes does not mean you can design and make them.

Findings actually noted that people at the top of their game tend to find success first, then came their passion for their job. So are you able to go through the grind, and learn the skillsets that edges you ahead of your peers? If not, anywhere you go, it will be the same, you lose passion and then want to leave.

People like you always prove that I was right to outperform degree holder, because I always prove it's what value that brings to the table, rather than just a piece of paper.

Thinking of quitting the job im working at for 1.5months. Initially wanted to quit on the first week. Told myself to try out for at least a month. But I still dont like what i am doing. mnc company but i just have no interest in doing what i am currently doing.

I have received other calls for interviews while i was working at the mnc but i reject it as it will probably be the similar type of job. Therefore, i want to go for something im passionate about.

Hey,

The general advice when it comes to job hopping is to acquire at least a year at your old position. Not just for your resume sake ( 1 year employment history looks better than multiple 3 months - 6 months employment ), but to get your bonus and see if you'll get a pay bump or a title bump.

If you're sure that there's no incentive for you to stay then of course, just start interviewing and once you have an official offer, plan an exit from your old job. Don't worry too much about it, there's always a better job out there where you'll eventually find your passion.

Then why I as degree holder when I join a MNC I get to promote to E6 from E5 but Dip holder only promote from E4 and rarely? In MNC, we also structure our promotion by paper qualification. Because Your 10 year experience is nothing compared to a degree! Please lah don't tell me how good your performance is or bring in how many revenue. Revenue is overrated lah, don't be lazy to and get a degree and you can also promote like us to E6.

Thanks for the info. its a contract job. the only incentive i get is a bonus if i completed the 1 year contract. Its going to be 2 months soon and i still think its not a suitable job for me. I tried to give it a shot, but even closing to 2 months, i still think its not the job for me.

imo, you shouldn't that soon and without a job unless this role is making you go completely bonkers, to the point that you need therapy, then by all means quit immediately.

thats the problem. why i gotta wait till i am in that state then i will quit? I know the older generations will see this as weak but at the end of the day , they are not going to be responsible for my well-being or my future. I understand its bad to job hop so quick, but i gave it a try for two months and i dont see myself getting comfortable with this field.
