even if your mp isn't Josephine Teo, there's no harm in sounding out your MP. isn't that what they're there for—to understand the issues on the ground that their constituencies are facing?
what do u mean by no real connection? that's how professional networking works—if you don't have a direct connection with your target you start by reaching out to people in your network that have connections to your target, then you slowly work from there.
rather than just plainly dissing my suggestion, why don't you suggest alternatives or something more constructive? doing something is much better than just giving up or continue waiting passively.

not sure if that would solve the problem but since we've not seen any change in governance since independence why not do something different this time.
things may or may not change, which is still better than doing the same thing and expecting something different.

Does anyone know who agreed to and signed CECA in the first place?
CCS talked about re-negotiation; the CECA should not even be signed in the first place under those terms.
Just look at the 127 professions covered under CECA; no wonder more sinkies unemployed and/or underemployed since CECA was signed more than a decade ago.

i have a masters degree from NTU.
been applying since april. most of the FT in the masters course have job and EP now.
whereas for me, i have five years experience yet applying to directly related roles but not much news of interview at all.
dont know how to go forward and feeling moody. took two online courses from EDX for relevant skills but really dont learn much and they are expensive

Bro/sis, I can sympathise with you because I'm in the same boat as u, if not worse. I've an MBA from INSEAD, considered as one of the top B schools globally, and 5 years of work exp. I've been applying for jobs since last Dec until now with no success.
All of my foreign classmates (and PRs) who chose to find a job here have already secured jobs before the peak of covid. 1 of them has even left his 1st job recently and will likely start his 2nd one soon. Most of my SGP classmates can't even secure a single offer, not even in our home country.
TLDR: stay positive and don't give up your search—you're not alone in this!
