Work for Apple?

is there anyone working for Apple here? How does the pay stack up against other companies?

Let's say for fresh degree people entering as a Mac specialist or product advisor

Apple pay above average compare to other IT MNC comapnies, but prepare for some crazy work hours. They are very into work life integration, i.e. lots of OT (10+pm during off peak & 3+am during peak) and most weekend burn. Good thing is they are flexible in terms of dressing, ranking, protocol and sometimes I dissappear for hrs during the day nobody will ask. Lasted for only 7 mths there.

sounds like a lot of internet start up companies to me! they have the same culture, casual work wear, come in late but be prepared to stay late

The main dif is start ups give options to employees that can lead to huge payouts when IPO, thats why some people are willing to work crazy time.

Apple has stopped giving options & shares to junior people long time ago, now is just crazy hours without the opportunity to strike rich. But still there are a lot of people who try to "dong" for at least a year to make the CV look good. Personally I find it not worth the trouble.

Apple in US or SG? In sg, it's just retail reps right? And most are employed under the approved distributors.

Some years ago, I was approached to join apple for a technical IT role with very attractive remuneration. But didn't take it up because the one of the requirements stated to work in different timezones to liaise with other overseas teams. That would imply working round the clock

Distributors & most retail reps have nothing to do with Apple, just like the ah beng h/p shop got nothing to do with M1/singtel/starhub

Don think TS is refering to distributors. The real Apple has a office in SG that does product training, marketing, logistics, technical services etc

Yes, I am referring to a Real apple headquarter. In fact, there is a Apple South Asia HQ here which includes Apple Singapore and Apple SEA HQs.

Seems like a lot of work and only above average pay.

So peeps how much is a fresh entry salary? anyone?
