Leaving defence and join government sector
Hi,
I'm currently working in RSAF for 3 years. 2nd Upper with NS. I'm considering to switch to government sector.
Recently, i saw the salary from MCYS stating $2,400 - $4,350 for fresh grad. It seems to me like a good deal with more focused job scope. Just wondering for my case, will my experience be taken into account?
My expected salary is $4.5k

If salary is the only determining factor, stay put in RSAF. No other public sector schemes (except AO) can match your current salary scale.

What is your english/GP grade?
Do you have social work/arts degree? (probably, no)
Any social work/policy making experience?
Otherwise, go look at DSTA/ DSO/ LTA which values your engineering experience.

I dont think there are any ministries willing to pay 4.5k for a 2nd upper degree with 3 years unless you are a scholar.

scholars at MCYS don't even get paid anywhere near 4.5k...
no wonder its so difficult for ex-uniformed service people to find jobs elsewhere.
unrealistic expectations...

If you are farmer in certain stat boards or ministry, say MFA, starting is around 4.2k already.
