I recently transferred from a stats board (under ministry A) to ministry B. I guess the only way to transfer is apply jobs through govt career portal? I applied my new job from there. I was give two option to either do movement policy or resign (like normal resignation). Of course, the two option have its pro and cons (one of it is $$$, benefits wise depend on your employer) depending which is better for you. I was told they will recognize my service in public sector but i will go to the new workplace as an new entrants.

I was told if you transfer ministry to ministry.. you can leave your current workplace asap once the HR have come up with an agreement. Meaning you don't even need to serve standard one month notice.

hope this helps.

don't give up hope! normally they take quite long to respond unless they need a replacement urgently. if you really lucky they will contact you within 2 weeks, it might even take up to 2 month or more.. I have applied quite a few position in diff stats/ministry..

if you are being selected and need a longer notice period, they will most likely to wait for you. I have been through this twice in my short life span of < 2years ever since i graduated.

Anyone applied to LTA before? Whats the timeline before they start calling for interview?
I applied on late Sept, the job was suppose to be closed but it reopen for another month again. Till now the status is still a submitted. Does it means most likely i had not succeeded?

Is it true that we have to wait for 8 weeks (2 mths) for all gov agencies to contact us for interview, as stated on the new career@gov portal? Especially now that it is nearing the end of the year.

Or do we have to wait until the closing date only then can we hear from the HR regarding the interview? Which is more realistic of how civil service works these days?

Actually if they really want you within 3 weeks they will give you a call. The job ad normally will periodically renew again so during whole process they will keep calling up suitable candidates for interview. My take is that if you are not call up within 5weeks, can most likely say goodbye

Hi, i'm regular from the mindef with security and medical clearance all clear in SAF. My 5 years contract with SAF is ending and soon to graduate with a degree @ unisim.

So I just wondering what are my chances of switching to other government jobs after I leave the force and anyone here experience such situation like me before?
