I thought they may be waiting for the deadline to close and then get the shortlist for the panel interview...

Is there anyone where they waited for 1 month and then they call you up for formal interview?

I wonder why are they taking so long to process the interview?

Beats me. I have been waiting for months for the outcome of my interview.

This is the usual case. Well, they have more than one positions to process, they have many applicants for a particular position and they also have other things to do.

Actually I wanted to move on. But I decided to check with HR on the results of the interview and given a "still pending management approval" answer. This drags on for months. My heart cannot move on.

Rather than waiting, why not apply other govt agencies?

I did. If I'm shortlisted after waiting for so long, then I don't mind the wait. But if the long wait leads to a negative outcome, I rather they inform me of the negative outcome earlier. But the answer is always pending management approval.

You should learn to move one, and at the same time evaluate yourself, like interview skills. I applied to few govt agencies and have learned along the way as well. Rather than constantly focus on that particular position and prayed hard after waiting like months, I would rather apply for other positions and work on my interview skills to improve my chances.

U are right. I was not very ready to move on because that position is an ideal one for me, I am very keen on that. And I also don't understand why the company need take so long for a reply. I am sure they already have a list of shortlisted and rejected candidates so why everytime I check with them, they tell me still pending management approval, can't tell me verbally where I stand. I also told myself not to call them anymore but once a while, I relapse again.
