Civil Svc/ Statboard - Typical Timeline for making a Hiring Decision

Hi, anybody apply for job(s) under CNB (Civilian). Would appreciate if anyone could share more on their processing time, from submission to interview. Thank you.

What is the usual waiting time after submitting references contacts and medical questionnaire forms to get an offer and is it possible to not get an offer in the end? How does one fail the medical part?

Hi, I received an email from HR last week informing me that they will be proceeding with my application to the next stage, so far had asked for medical declaration only. Understand from HR that the security clearance etc may take 6-8 weeks. May I know how do I tell that I’m their first choice or just a back up?
Already rejected an offer from a SB and putting off my interviews for now. Really hope I can get the job but the wait is very long and not sure if I should put my hopes high for this role…

Usually should be 2/3 weeks after the job posting expired

Hi all, I've been offered verbally by a recruiter from govtech a week ago after two rounds of interview. Recruiter mentioned will trigger background check but never ask me for any documentations.

Should I reach out to ask?

Also they didn't say how much they'll offer, but only ask my last drawn & expected. Not sure if that's their normal SOP...?

Go for other interviews - yes. No guarantee will be offered while waiting for ministry for clearance.

Accept other offers - no. However, good to inform the ministry/SB you are more keen in if you received other offers. It may help speed up the process slightly if you are an exceptional candidate. If not, they will just move on to the next better candidate.

A bit of patience is necessary.
