Civil Svc/ Statboard - Typical Timeline for making a Hiring Decision

Accepted a preliminary offer about a month ago with a Min which they later had to seek approval for my appointment. Was told Vital would contact me regarding pre-employment formalities once approval has been obtained, but to date haven't got a call from Vital yet.

Anyone knows how long would Vital take? It's been about 1 week + since the HR told me approval has been obtained. This is really a frustrating and excruciating long wait.

Hi all,

HR called me on the same day after my second interview last week and said the panel is keen to hire me.

Emailed me shortly to ask for my last drawn and my payslips.

I have emailed and checked with them again this week and they replied that they are expecting the outcome to be ready in 2 weeks’ time as usually it will take about 3 weeks of the administration and approvals to be finalised.

May i know does it mean I’m selected for the position and just have to wait after the approval for the official written offer?

Hi, I received a verbal offer and we are currently discussing on the start date. Will the offer be revoked if I ask for a later start date?

Depends on your agency. I started 3 months after accepting even though my notice period only 1 mth.

I am currently waiting to sign the employment contract with HR. HR mentioned that still subject to reference check with my current HR. Means should be ok to resign after signing right?

Do you mean that they offered u already without completing the reference check?

1-2 weeks. So is safe to tender after signing the contract right.. my first time changing job 😆

I'm in the same situation as you, not sure what to do. I thinking I will sign then resign. But what if reference check come back no good? What if offer somehow gets retracted sia.
