Lightbulb Move from pte sector to public sector

I have never work in public service & due to competitive job market... I start to apply jobs in public service... Was finally offered a contract role in public sector after going through few rounds of interview & test. The whole process took about 4 months. I have a local degree with more than 10 years working experience... they offer me payscale based on MX12 grade...not sure whether to take up this contract role or not... If you will in my shoe... Will you take up the offer or continue search for a perm role in pte sector?

Is Covid creating more job opportunities for Singaporeans to be employed?

According to current MOH statistics, we are still importing a large majority of Covid cases (including the more infectious strains) from India, in part due to the CECA agreement with India, which at the time of writing is the SECOND HIGHEST infected country in the world. This indirectly leads to more healthcare demand and create more healthcare jobs for locals!

CECA is thus creating more job opportunities for us, by increasing our local Covid numbers and ensuring doctors and nurses WILL NOT be out of jobs!

Further, increasing CECA flights to Singapore will also help stress test our world class healthcare system, by ensuring the Second Covid Wave will not happen from an imported foreign Covid case.

Therefore, importing more CECA EP and WP foreigners to our booming local economy is a good thing for Singapore because any Covid infection they can bring helps create more jobs for Singaporeans.

Does anyone else agree? Up for constructive discussion!

Does your experience and current role the same? Maybe they did not give you higher position due to that.

Also do you have any family that financially depend on you? If you are desperate for job, you should just swallow your pride and work there until you can find another job.

For those offered, how long did they take to offer you?

Assuming after your interview? Mine first interview was around early/mid Dec, then second near end Dec

then after that quite quick turnaround but asked for reference

do they ask u to do G50 by filling up the form or they will just proceed with the checks immediately?

based on your experience with the time they take to offer, roughly how much longer?
