Tks for sharing as an ex-HR. What would help applications to CS then? in other words, what would HR look out for in an application at the initial filtering stage?

My sincere apologies here, there is absolutely no intention to spread false news that it will help applications. This is just my personal own views. Cheers.

Hello. Is there any advantage to applying for a CS job early? The application window are often 1-2 months. Do they do rolling application or consider everything after the window closes?

I realized that after declining my previous offer. Now I have to bank everything on this offer to go through...

Mine's still pending those clearances for about 4 weeks already. Same as you, I took the risk and turned down another offer and am banking on the SB to come through.

I don't really know about security clearance but they did inform me about medical clearance.
They also did confirm that the offer still stands and told me that I will be signing this week but I also just received a email from Career@Gov indicating that my application is unsuccessful so I'm very confused right now. Will drop them a call tomorrow to double check.

has anyone tried applying multiple positions at the same ministry/sb at once? I saw 2 job offers that opened up that i am both keen to do and they are quite closely related. Would sending 2 job applications seem desperate or will it increase chances? thanks!

That actually happened to me too, but turned out it was an admin lapse. They revert the status to shortlisted. So you should be fine!
Hope you'll get the offer soon, I'm still waiting.
