Hi guys, I have 3 job applications that have turn to In Process but have not yet received any calls for an interview yet, it’s been about 2-3 weeks and have not heard anything. How long should I wait to know if I’m not selected?

It depends on the ministry/ SB. In my friends and my case, we usually receive interview calls within 3 weeks (<1 month) from the change of status to “In Process”. There were also applications which had their status changed from “In Process” to “Unsuccessful” after 1-2 weeks (maybe we were what they were looking for, or that they felt we weren’t as suitable as the other candidates). There were also some which remained as “In Process” for months without any follow-up from the HR (even till today). I think the usual wait is around 1-2 months (no more than 3 months, I’d say) for the first call from HR regardless of whether the status has been changed to “In Process” (some still remained as “Submitted” when the HR called us for first round of test/ interview).

Hi. Im in similar position, is your clearance g50? I heard g50 clearance will take up to a few months. Im just a week into the clearance process. Not sure when should I resign as I also have a notice period of 1 month.

The status in the career.gov is not accurate sometimes.
Even you get offered, it will still show submitted.
Even you are unsuccessful, it will still show in progress.
Depending on HR who are in charge to update.
Sometimes they are too busy to update or some can’t be bothered to update.
Usually 1 month after your application, if you will know whether you are shortlisted for interview. Otherwise after one month, do not pin hope on that.
Continue to move and search.

Maybe resign after you have officially sign off the contract and clear off all the necessary clearance and admin procedures to be safe.

from my experience, within 2-3 weeks from the closing date should have given you a call if you are selected.

Roughly about a week after the closing date of the application

When you apply for a position on careers@gov, u should get an automessage saying they will contact you within up to 8 weeks of application closing if you are shortlisted for an interview.
You may use that as a guide. Sometimes it depends on your luck as some interviewers dont see an urgent need to shortlist fast while others do.
No hard and fast rule.

Anyone knows if it is compulsory for the organisations to interview all the shortlisted candidates before confirming their decision? Cuz pte seems to only interview 1 to 3 candidates then will make their choice but public sector need to interview so many candidates which may even take weeks to finish the interview. Will they still remember the first few candidates who were interviewed?
