MOM ACE - quite fast during Covid
I applied for the position of Senior Housing Officer at Assure, Care, Engage (ACE), which was birthed during Covid at MOM.
My application was in April 2020. In May 2020, I attended the interview. June 2020 I went for health check and was subsequently offered. I started mid-July 2020.
So the hiring process was quite fast.
But once you are in civil service, you will find that it is very hard to get transfers within the ministry and out of the ministry (to other stat boards). Seems like MOM HR doesn't like to move headcount. Either that or they all knew that ACE officers were all temp and contract, not for long-term hire.
Whatever the reason(s), most of us won't know. But what is reality now is that our contracts have ended and many of the ACE officers are now doing other jobs and coping with life without the comforts of civil service paychecks.
It's damn frustrating to know how our government officers work.
Screw civil service.

Hello! Hiring HR is asking for a reference check with current company months ahead of stipulated start date. Wanted to ask if anyone has been hired through movement policy and how the timeline is like?
