Been through interviews, submitted payslip and completed forms (not g50), HR told me that application still processing and they will give update soon… any chances? Am I the backup candidate?

Do they conduct checks before or after final interview?

at least it's still not hanged for now.
even if they give u an indicative/provisional offer, don't assume all its shun shun
u-turn ie retraction of indicative offer (last step before formalising offer) can happen

its tantamount to VAR check for a offside by a fraction of your goatee/nostril hair kind

if u likely have made the final cut (ie the surviving few), they will then ask for more info to screen u

but caveat, you may just be a pool of few shortlisted ones whh they will screen
then from there compute some pay
then still have to get official approval ie submission clearance to Perm Sec lvl
and wait till u see the formal LOA, then u can 100% say u r in.
so long as nothing come out in formal LOA, don't assume indicative offer is woon woon jiak mee hoon

Thanks alot. They asked for more info more than a month ago and not heard since. Wondering when they will revert or if they will even send rejection.

no harm checking back with the HR person bah if your last comms with them was already a month plus ago

some of these background checks can take a while

If g50 is not required, will HR still perform reference check before verbal offer and hence the wait? Or I’m just simply not the top candidate? Sigh
