You can still back out because the contract hasn't started if you haven't begun your first day. Just up to you if you want to burn bridges with Stat Board A. You could be honest with Stat Board A about the other offer being better and cross your fingers that the HR accepts you backing out gracefully. But if Stat Board B reneges on the offer (rarely happens but it could), you'll be back at square one.

For me the only time in my life I've managed to make two public service job offers work out (one ministry, one stat board) is when both made their verbal offers within one week of each other, before I had signed any contract.

I have already signed the LOA. Should one tender resignation letter before or after medical clearance?

After I signed the LOA, can I tender resignation letter immediately? Or it's better to wait for the medical clearance?

so u is signed the LOA aft clearing the medical checks with the new side or what?

and when u meant by tender immediately, no need give one month's notice to your current coy meh?

start date for statboard A is in mid July, received LOa from statboard B alr… not too sure what to do. wldnt want to be in a position where some backend system tags me out reneging statboard A, and statboard B rescinds its offer

since both are SBs,
either way u look at it
bound to have employment history trail if they do a reference check

so its up to u

have u look at the offered terms from stat board B?
is it so-called significantly betterer than A or otherwise?
other than these dollars and cents portion, career development /prospects/job-scope wise, whh is your actual preferred cup of teh or teh O?

Idthink will have employment history trail considering I havent started employment at A. Tbh, A’s benefits are great but B’s scope of work and exit opportunities are definitely much better, from a non financial standpoint, as well as based on my interests. From a long term perspective, B is definitely better.

I guess fortunately they are under different ministries
