I'm not OP but similarly applied for HTX. Been close to a month since my second interview.
Did HR call you to express interest after your interview?
I asume you didn't receive rejection letter so did you contact HR since yours is 2 months already?
Based on some earlier posters in this threads, avg processing time is 1 months + or longer after offer.

HR did not call me since the second interview. However there was a little drama as I did receive an unsuccessful application email from the careers@gov portal at the 1mth mark after my second interview. I followed up with an email to HR regarding it for confirmation and HR informed to ignore that as they are still considering. Subsequently my status is careers@gov was changed back to shortlisted. I'm intending to email HR soon.

I think the unsuccessful email OP is referring to is send by HR, not careers@gov.
Since you didn't receive a call after second interview + already two months pls contact HR.
Just to share, for my case HR informed formal offer (with salary package) will take at least a month. I intend to follow-up with HR once cross the one month mark.

OP who applied for HTX here. The unsuccessful email was sent by HR manager. Not the career@gov automated email.
One thing I would like to comment further is, shortlisted does not mean you will be hired. It can mean a few things.
Some of the shortlisted I have are:
Shortlisted for interview and to submit assignment
Shortlisted AFTER interview but did not receive any call back or reply from email since 2 months ago.
One more example, I attended the first interview and was told to wait up to 5 weeks, 5 weeks later I email and was told still in the midst of interviewing. Up till now there is no updates or sort and the status is still in process. I have already accepted an offer during these 2 months.
The best thing to do is either email HR for updates or to take it as you are not being considered. But choose the former, email and ask. If there is no reply after a long while, you can then take it as unsuccessful.
Because what you are dealing with are uncertainties. You may want the job a lot but you cannot possibly wait 2-3 months for a offer right? Think this way, you may be missing a better opportunity if you could just continue actively applying and attending interviews.

Hi. I went for interview and receive a call next day after the interview that they will be doing a background check with the company that I am working in. Does this serves as a form of verbal offer or does it even mean that I'm the chosen one? Anyone knows how long does such checks take?

Does anyone have any idea if HR asked for expected salary, current payslip and say will do a check with current company HR (SB) before moving on - what does this mean? Is this a verbal offer?

Hi. Just trying to know if anyone have applied for a position in NEA before. If they offer the job in terms if contract, is this a renewable contract or strictly just for the number of years given? Is there a chance that can be converted to a permanent job?

Background checks
For background check, what do it typically entail? Is it mainly references? Or will they call your supervisor to get feedback on you?

They said they will contact my HR to check on whether is transfer or start afresh and also to check on other information. At the same time, saying that my immediate bosses won't know about it as its just a check between hr.
As for reference, I know they have already check with my referees right after my interview as my referee called me to tell me about it.

What post you apply for NEA? Usually, should be able to convert to permanent post if they didn’t specifically say something like this is a two year contract.
