Civil Svc/ Statboard - Typical Timeline for making a Hiring Decision

Hello like to check if anyone knows what is the typical timeline for stat board to get back after second interview? The hr said will know the outcome within next few days but its been a week since. Should I check in with her, or continue to wait? What are your chances of getting the job after second interview with stat board? Please advise!

If they mentioned a few days but its been more a week, you can just drop them a text or mail to politely request for an update!

They usually dont strictly follow their timelines due to many delays. I was told HR would reply in 2 weeks but when i emailed them after the 2 weeks mark they had no updates... got an offer another 2 weeks latee

Just email or call the HR for update. Im still waiting and its been almost 2 months since my first interview. hopefully you wont have to go thru this kind of dreadful process.

yes, same ministry/statboard! yeap i total took 1 mth (abt 4.5 weeks for verbal offer)

after verbally accepting they took about 1.5 weeks to send contract and formal offer...

What is the next step after the HR has reached out for reference checks?

Hr keep asking for reference check
But been 1.5 months last interview ._.

Dont know if this drag means good or not good. Offer or not offer and its only for a sgunited job

I ever waited three months to be offered a role, despite being told to wait between two and three weeks after the interview.

I have actually given up waiting and was surprised when they called out of the blue.

So yah, my own conslusion is... if there is no news, it means good news.

And u can certainly ask the HR for update(s), but I think once or twice is enough.

In process just means that the HR has received and opened ur application to view. "shortlisted" usually means they are LIKELY to call you for an interview / further steps. all the best!!


However, as with most recruitment processes, nothing is guaranteed, sometimes the HR just doesn't update the status at all.

July: Apply
Aug: Position changed to shortlisted
Sep: Position changed to in process

Usually it should be ‘in process’ then to ‘shortlisted’ but mine was ‘shortlisted’ first then changed to ‘in process’. Does it mean i have been rejected? I have not received any email updates up till now

ah i see, that sounds odd. do you have the HR's email? sometimes their name/email is indicated at the end of the automated C@G email you receive when you submit your application... best to drop them an email to check!
