Call you within and after

24 hrs - desperate
3 days - you’re likely top candidate
7 days - top candidate reject
14 days - lets just say move on?
1 month - the candidate rejected them

Some people 2-3 months, and they come with ‘are you still looking for a job?’

Pardon me, but I really LOL at this part. Wow, If they were to ask that question, it really goes to show they themselves also aware of their ultra slow hiring process and must have received a few replies saying "I'm already working".

but then, some of my friends within the same field change job every year, as long they do the same thing under a different boss they are glad. makes me wonder what's wrong with my profile too. haha

this is quite a sensible way of looking at it. my experience is, if they don't call within the week, means no chance. Especially now so many fresh grads (or those that apply early) with a mind like a sponge (very teachable) , excited and waiting to pounce on any opportunity.

the only difference is education institutes. I feel that they like to call around 2 months before class commence. so if you apply in Sep.. u wait very long.

2 months actually, its meant for periods like Nov/Dec.... because the managers all on leave, so u submit in Nov, u wait long long... they come back in Jan, clear their work, then they see you in mid-Jan. exclude June till Dec (holidays + hiring cooled down) , quite fast one

especially valid for public service that may clear 18+18 + OIL + PH (ok la extreme case)
