Thanks all. How about the pay progression (average rate for a local uni grad)?

After 3 years in a non-financial industry, I moved to a foreign IB (technology) 5 years ago.
Salary was about $70k.
Promoted after a year (rare; most people take at least 2 years) and had an increment of about 13%.
Left after 3 years. Ended at low $80's.
In all the 3 years, bonus was about a month.

Now in another bank with a title that is roughly equivalent to that in the previous bank.
Essentially, no promotion for 4 years :P
Salary is now low $100's.

Waiting for the next opportunity.

hi all, im currently doing my part-time bachelor degree (private of course) while working in a trade finace back office (japanese bank). By the time i graduate, i will have an estimation of 2 years experience. Will the combination of experience and degree get me a better head start, compared to the fresh graduates (private degree)?
And if i move to a different bank after getting my degree, will the experience allows me to secure a better basic fresh grad salary? Assuming i still continue my work in back office. Appreciate any useful feedbacks! thanks

Very sad to see you guys in banking and others industries earning so little after so many years of studies in University and hard work.

Actually, I am QAQC Inspector in Oil and Gas industry in Overseas. I have 12 years of experience and a University graduate. I am earning nearly RM 60000 to RM70000 monthly, which is more than an average CEO or MD salary in Malaysia.

A lot of banks r outsourcing Bo n mo....bar cap...scb....etc.
it might sound sexy when u tell ppl that u work in a bank. But for ppl in the industry, they know the differences.
When recession comes, b prepared to lose ur job
