Need advice on new job which require me to be posted overseas

Hi everyone, im currently working as an associate engineerin a mnc in a semi connductor industry. Im a diploma holder btw.

Now the situation is im been offered a position by a malaysian relative of mine(im singaporean btw) which require me to be posted to china suzhou for a period of 2 year. He told me my pay package is 7000 rm(~$2800sgd) which already included all the allowance and they will be providing accomodation as well.

My first thought is the pay package is abit on the low side for an oversea posting( anyone can advise on that?). Then i thought about why are they offering my pay package in RM? Are they paying me based on what they paying a malaysian? Anyway i should be expecting an official interview soon, so heres my questions:

•should i ask them why are they paying me by rm? If this is what they are paying a malaysian, should i ask what they are paying a singaporean?
•what other questions should i ask regarding my posting to oversea?

Hope to gain some useful advice here as i really got no idea on how the pay stucture works concerning overseas posting. If u guys need any more info, do inform me.

How much are you making now?

SGD2,800 is on the low side especially without any CPF contribution. Moreover, cost of living in suzhou is not that cheap too. What will you be doing there? Working as an engineer in the factory in Suzhou?

With a diploma and few years of experience, you can get SGD2,800 working in SIngapore.

You also need to ask the following questions

1) Any tax equalisation benefits. If no, you have to pay higher income taxes in China
2) Any home leave. How many times a year? If no, you have to pay your own air tickets if you want to come back to SIngapore for X'mas, Chinese New Year, etc.
3) What kind of lodging provided? Staying in the factory hostel?

If both 1 & 2 is no and 3 is yes, then it is very much a local package and you cannot expect much.

My current basic is only 2k. If include ot n allowance i earn an average monthy pay of 3.3k last year. My working experience is only 1.5 year fresh out of ns.

I will sort of doing something like designing other compajy plant or faclities using autocad software. The only reason im taking this offer might be the travel oppotunity and maybe i can learn something. But pay wise i think is abit pathetic for an overseas posting. So you suggest i dont take it?

S$2.8k is nothing. Don't waste your time on the overseas posting. Your priority is to get a degree, which you can't do so in China. Get a study loan if not enough money.
