So they have a requirement of the gpa and class of honours to be recruited for the commercial graduate position? Couldn’t find this requirement in the job posting… but assuming how competitive the salary package is as mentioned in this thread and the reviews, I assume applicants who got offer have to be First Class if not Second Upper at the least?

Anyone heard back from BHP for 2022 Commercial Grads? Do y’all also know what are the few stages of hiring process after the HireVue interview and games?

My numbers may be outdated as they were from 5 years back, but I am guessing they should have adjusted it based on market trends to low to mid 4s now. Benefits are quite generous and bonus is usually around 3-4 months.
The key selling point going into a BHP or even Rio Tinto is the opportunities for progression and even lateral movement. In terms of earnings will likely outstrip someone in a local bank MA programme by year 3 or 4.

Generally speaking in terms of salaries Rio Tinto is below BHP and Anglo. Both of those 2 are about on par.

Thank you! But do you think it is alright or does this BHP grad experience help in exit opportunities? Like say maybe going into consulting (Accenture, big 4 etc) or moving into banking in future? Was just worried the industry would be a roadblock but as the news last night mining have been doing quite well and BHP is the top in its field and it’s a grad program afterall so also thought may not be a roadblock?

It is possible, I have seen some contacts move into banks after a few years in the grad programme. You want to be getting yourself into either a commercial or strategy role prior to your exit as these are the ones that are going to have more career mobility outside of the industry.
BHP is like the BP/Shell of the mining industry so you don't have to worry about brand name recognition.

I am not from mining but have a few friends in it so somewhat aware of pay and career opps, not so much on the hiring process but it should be standard pattern recognition, cultural fit questions after application followed by phone and video interviews before they actually call you down to the office for FtF.
