Your name will be in the data base so schools can contact you. But better to be proactive and call up schools and leave your name to indicate your availability as FAJT. There are a lot of fajts out there...so on paper, quitting to become fajt is what a lot of burnt out teachers want to do but the reality is that there might not be that many vacancies available or the teaching position offered is to cover short term leave like maternity so the stability may not be there.

I personally agree with this. And to make things worse, work keeps getting thrown down to the lower GEOs for reasons like "grooming" or being "young and energetic". These extra work wouldn't pay off with promotions and increments slowing down so much.

As for those taking up FAJT, I really would advise not to think too much about the salary. Your mental/physical health and time for your own family is worth so much more.

And for UTs getting delayed in your progression, don't worry too much if you wish to leave due to this unfairness. Most of you are still young and promising - still many job opportunities out there in the market with much better and fairer career progression.

I've been a GEO 3 for some years, not sure when I can be promoted or what else I've to do...some batchmates from other schools were promoted to GEO 4 last year. I've been obtaining C+ in performance review since I began.

Joined service in 2015, graduated from NIE (PGDE) in 2016, got batch promotion to GEO 3 in 2017... 4 years later, still GEO 3. My RO and SL gave vague responses when I asked them.

have u hit the ceiling for GEO3 already?

and the delay in promotion affects everyone across the board. so I don't think doing anything extra is gonna help...can only wait and hope for it to come soon

I am a teacher who intends to take NPL from Jan 2021 - Jun 2021. I have served the full year of 2020. But PB is only credited in Mar/April which will be during my NPL.

Will I still receive my PB for the work done this year?

In the event I have to extend my NPL or resign from service after my NPL, will my PB be clawed back by MOE?

Thanks in advance to those who are able to advise me on this.

Hi can check if u managed to find out? I m wondering if I can get my PB now that I m on NPL.

Promotions are centrally managed by HR, so your RO and SLs may not necessarily have the precise answers you seek. Of course, the school can speed things up for you by raising your CEP, but lately, getting geo4 after spending only 2 to 3 years as a geo3 seems to only be achievable by people with higher tier scholar status and/or have had their CEP raised multiple times in the first few years of their career. Whereas 2-3 years used to be the norm in the 1A1 to 1A2 days.

i.e., as others say, it affects everyone on average.

Getting promoted from GEO3 to 4 will come after 3-4 years if you do okay. The difficult part is moving from GEO4 to GEO5. Don’t know how many years will it take.

Not true for everyone anymore. There are a few male NSmen in my school who completed NIE degree or PGDE in 2015 but are still GEO3. They never got below C grade. What does it mean by "do okay"?

You need two Bs to be promoted from GEO3 to GEO4
