Depends on your sub grade. If you are Geo 4 or 5, it will be harder, knowing that there are already kPs who will share the pie with you. The KRAs are also more demanding.

Occurrence of A is easier for lower sub grade. Once Geo 3 and above, A doesn’t come easily. I have gotten As when I was internally appointed at Geo 4 level.

Possible for exceptional cases ( PSC scholars with consistent exemplary performance; some say white horses, but unverified), but almost unheard of. Usually, the panel will pace you when raising your CEP. At geo3, considerably early in one's career, a solid performer who is assessed to have good potential will probably have a CEP equivalent to the SEO grades (P6, P7 etc).

Mine was a 0.1 dip for same C+ grade for GEO 4.
For purpose of sharing:
2020: C+
2019: C+
2018:Promoted GEO 4, C
2017: B
2016: B
2015: Promoted GEO 3, C+
2014: C+

A is usually up to 5% in each sub-grade. A and B is about 35%.
C+ is the next 15%. The rest will get C. Bottom 3% will get D or F.

Last year 2.2, this year 2.1.
On a side note, any HQ officers here? Heard first year PB for HQ officers won’t be good. Is that true?

2016 Year of promo to Geo 5: C+
2017: B
2018: A
2019: A
2020: B
Not sure when SEO will come, at current scale I will do just fine. Going to senior scale will lose allowance, dip in Appraisal grade, but there will be pay increment and PB might be more. Anyone with the experience? Do you general get more or less moving from Geo 5 to Seo 1?
