Is she good, lucky or scholar
Or combination of all 3?
33 became vp
28 was hod.

Or we just chui

I recall a earlier p at age 35 at commonwealth sec
And was heading tjc at age 38.

How years was she really teaching inside a classroom? I guess less than 2 years.

I donít think teaching is relevant exp to become hod or principal unfortunately

Principal ish abt establishing a vision and set the environment for slave drive.
Being a teacher too long u become soft and too compassionate to teachers

Default LH role

Hi! I was doing internal LH duties this year and asked to go for interview in 2024. Iím not sure if Iím ready for the interview itself. Anyone who has gone for it can share what kind of questions were asked?

Iíd think this is what I need to read up on as a language teacher:
- syllabus
- schoolís and dept direction
- examples of how I contributed to school
- challenges Iíve faced as an internal leader

My HOD has not prep me yet and I donít want to bug her this early.
Iím nervous 😬 especially in a formal setting and having to speak spontaneously 🥶 TIA!

The panel may ask you about what you have learnt from your internal appointment, but they will definitely also try to assess if you have a clear understanding of what your role is as a (confirmed) LH. I doubt they will grill you about theoretical knowledge on stuff like the LGM and SEM, but it helps to understand the key messages and broad ideas.

OP here. I know TGM and LSM .. whatís LGM and SEM? Iím so terrible with acronyms gosh. Should I ask my HOD about the specifics of LH duties? Or is there info on this online? Iíve only been informally briefed that it encompasses admin work like planning, exam-related etc. which is what Iíve been doing. 😅

How else can I prepare for it?

Sorry, I hate acronyms too but it's a bit of a bad habit now.

LGM: Leader Growth Model. The intent of the LGM is similar to the TGM, but it's to map out areas of leadership growth.

SEM: School Excellence Model (3.0). The SEM is a point of reference for school strategic planning, it might for example be pulled out during KP retreats and planning meetings in Q4.

You can find information about these on OPAL and Intranet, but it's also good to talk to your school's KPs to find out more about these within your own school context.

What you will find online is generic stuff. It's best to reach out to your HOD and other KPs to find out how things work in your school and your cluster. I don't think you can find generic descriptors about what a LH or SH is supposed to do, at least not in the generally accessible MOE Intranet, because every principal will deploy their LHs and SHs slightly differently. So contextual knowledge is more important than knowing textbook answers.
