i see. but not many companies in private sector can match the bonuses of 4-5months for an average C grader...

unless you are in a lucrative industry / high performer.. usually bonuses in private practice is as low as 0 to 2-3x..

When your principal tells you and you receive the letter or through pac gov???

You can more or less Guess you will be promoted if you have consistent grades or upward trend grades. Usually, last year grade before promotion is the highest of last 3 PB grades. Most of my colleagues, average degree holder performance is 2 years to GEO3, 3 -4 years to GEO4.

For promotion to GEO 5, it depends. Some people take 2 years, some colleagues even 5 years still at GE04.

Above are all first career Teachers for my school colleagues. Mid career should be faster but the expectations will also be higher.

p.s. for teachers without any official appointments, salary grade will cap at GEO5.

GEO1 (Untrained): ? (non-graduates start here)
GEO (Trained): 1600 - 2730
GEO2 (Untrained): 2000-4340 (graduates start here)
GEO2 (Trained): 2538-4500
GEO3: 3515 -5616
GEO4: 4545-7271
GEO5: 4903-7845 (max salary grade for standard teacher)
SEO1: 5651-9064 (min. LH/SH/ST)
SEO2: 7236-10766 (min. HOD/LT)
SEO3: 8748-11232 (+9%?) (min. HOD/MT)

Is this basic or gross?

My P told us today..

interested to find out what is happened in other school. I discovered that my school promoted much fewer teachers from geo3 to 4 since 2017. dropped by 70% after 2016. and now many GEO3 waiting for promotion. And most likely the slots will be left for the scholars. quite a few are not promoted even working for 5 years as GEO3. Is this happening in other schools too?

😞😞

Female.
I have been in the service for abt 5 years.
Thought i will be promoted this year. But nope.
NIE Diploma with A lvls.
Stuck at GEO1 for 5 years already. Pay around 2.2k before CPF.
Degree holder colleague who came in together with me has just been promoted to GEO4.
A junior colleague who wayangs a lot just got promoted to GEO3.
You can see why Im losing my passion. Not because of promotion alone. But because of the unfairness of it all.
When you guys say that 4k is too low for teachers or other complaints abt pay etc..look at mine.

Feel that Im in a hell hole.
Senior colleagues dont mingle with me cuz im "too quiet".

I feel i should opt for a transfer to another school. What do you think?

Did you show the drive of upgrading yourself, taking up additional courses, to sort of "make up" for the lack of degree, to your bosses?

If you are too "quiet" then it may leave others a feeling of "unapproachable", "negativity", etc.

my 2cents.
