Any idea what’s the progression like for tuition teachers joining the elite tuition centre chains? Those tuition centres near town/ in Bukit Timah
Especially for ex school teachers?
Understand that tuition teachers are paid more, but was wondering how about the career prospects? Since there’s no HOD/principal/ MOE stint etc going forward

No and no.
Also, be prepared to cover a lot of small expenses with your own money unless you want to go through the ridiculously troublesome and slow procurement process to get a $10-20 piece of stationery (which you will not get in time for whatever you need it for).

Can look out for MOE MESRC promotions. Sometimes the deals are quite good! Recently every school hol there's a $50-100 subsidy by MOE on staycations!
Not sure how many companies provide allowance for phone. If you're tight on budget, use the phone in the staffroom. Also a good way to limit work to office hours.

As for stationery, can always draw from the General Office / Admin side. If you need additional stationery, good to budget and purchase early. I think this goes for whole of civil service and is not unique to MOE. Paperwork is inevitable since we are using taxpayer's money. Accountability is impt.

Sometimes at a meeting a week before a high key event your SLs "suddenly thought of something" and you gotta scramble to get things implemented. It's not always so simple that you can foresee everything you need in September the year before.
Accountability is important, yes. But squandering all these man hours on extremely laborious paperwork is also an egregious waste of tax monies. The expenditure on man hours to get the paperwork done significantly decreases the value for money received from every single procurement exercise. Accountability should not be thrown away entirely, but at the same time we have taken the administrative processes too far.

Pre-2015, 8 years will get you to 1A3 already if you don't screw up. Haha. And if you still at 1A1 after 8 years means you are condemned liao.
Nowadays, it's normal. You want faster, you gotta make big sacrifices and work well above your expected level.

8 years in GEO 3 or 8 years in service?
8 years as GEO 3 is really long, especially when you have mentioned that your PB have been good
