We everyday attend school to teach and yet we are not entitled to salary adjustment.

i know some of the civil servant still can wfh...

really disappointed....

Isn’t the teacher salary scale already higher than the mx scheme for the equivalent role/responsibility? The mx scheme salary range and increments are quite low already and way overdue for adjustments.

Based on your logic, there should not be any specialist or technical schemes in the government. Everything just MX scheme can already.

Oh and I should continue using your logic. Working hours and all must also be standardised to office hours. Teachers should not need to report to work at 7 and continue work during after-hours too. Teachers should not be losing their voices at students and listen to unreasonable demands from other stakeholders too.

And on the other hand, that also means your MX job should also be easy enough for any OSO in a school to take over too.

Yay to your logic.

No wonder the education sector is dying. Look at how the general public views education and educators these days. Only when an individual or his/her loved one is a teacher do they realise that the jobscope, commitment and sacrifices of an MOE teacher is way different from an MX generalist out there.

Is it? I think it's comparable or even higher leh.

Grade Pay Range
MX9 (Directors) $11,110 to $17,370
MX10 (Senior Management) $7,000 to $11,470
MX11 (Middle Management) $4,740 to $8,305
MX12 (Management) $2,945 to $5,925
MX13 (Fresh Graduates) $3,500 to $4,000

Also read from this forum that their PB quantum is higher? their B grade enjoy 3 months plus while for Educator scheme its about 2.something?

So what logic is it then that they get salary revision but not others in specialised schemes? more deserving cause use more grey matter?

Just got to wait lor. If have salary revision, good. Don't have, suck thumb.

LT/HOD (GEO5, SEO1) = Assistant Director ($8k-$9k)
VP (SEO1/2/3) = Deputy Director (At least $10k)
P (SEO2/3/Superscale H) = Director ($13k and above)

I think teachers are very well paid.

Why dont you list the pay range for those below geo 5 where the majority of teachers are?

This is only a small proportion of education officers.

Also your information is misleading. GEO5 does not make $8k. SEO1 and SEO2 is not "At least $10k". SEO2/SEO3 is not "$13k".

You're not even an education officer.

Yup, can confirm that the PB amount for MX is in the higher range. In fact in terms of progression, there is a better chance to reach higher salary compared to GEO scheme (if you look at the MX ceilings).

As everyone can see from this perfect example above, it's usually skewed statistics like this which mislead the public, make them super jealous of the "short working hours" and "high pay" and always complaining and demanding more things from teachers.

1. How many teachers actually belong to those categories you listed?

Majority of the workforce trying to appeal to your demands and making you and your kids grow up actually belong to the lower grades.

2. Let's leave the VP and P category out since they're the minority. All GEO5 and SEO1 draw at least $8k like your MX Assistant Directors?

I know of GEO5s (or even GEO4s) drawing only $5-6k and already performing HOD roles. So going by the way you argue, your MX Assistant Director need to kena paycut to match with the GEO scheme. Where's your paycut?

This is so common to the point it's ridiculous. A third of the HODs in my school at stuck at GEO4. And they are pretty decent HODs. Of course we don't know what their performance appraisals are like, but most of them are well-liked by their JHs for their people-centric management.

I'm always puzzled as to why confirmed middle management appointees are not automatically moved up to SEO1, which is the entry management grade. Why is MOE intentionally underpaying them by leaving them at non-management pay grades? Age tax for young people?
