At least a Branch Director.

VP, normally an unit DD in a branch.

HOD, normally an unit AD in a branch, but due to limited quota, some Hods are only given the title of Senior Officer in the unit if he or she has attained the SEO1 grade.

SH/LH, normally an unit officer. You will only attain the title of Senior Officer, provided you have attained the SEO1 grade.

GEO Officers, normally an unit officer. Therefore, those who can go HQ are normally officers with at least a CEP of P7 (SH/LH/St) potential.

You are practically involved in policy making in HQ and macro-perspectives acquired will allow you to appreciate the stragetic planning done in school. You will able to see the broad picture, identify and differentiate between structure, processes and activities.

What you are doing in HQ from CPO to AEB, you are at least working on processes that effect at National level, so don't limit yourself to the presumed different prestige of branches or units in HQ. In essence, every HQ work counts.

Agree. What counts is one’s ability to apply big picture thinking and understand how policy informs implementation in the MOE system and schools, and be able to communicate well

Entered teaching may 25 2011 geo 2(old scheme)
2012 ranked C (Default)
2013 ranked C+
2014 ranked C+
2015 ranked C+
2016 Emplaced to GEO 2 ranked C+(new scheme)
2017 ranked C told it was a default C
2018 ranked B
2019 Ranked A promoted to GEO 3
2020 ranked C+
2021 ranked C+
2022 ranked C

I was told that although i was emplaced my work experience wont contribute in accelerating my promotion and younger officer still promote faster than me. When i ask my SLs they give the standard template answer that moe will promote officers on the ability to perform at a higher sub grade but it is the age old excuse.

DipEd Queries

I am planning to do the DipEd. From what I hear, I can expect to get $2.5K during my training phase. Any idea what I will be earning once I graduate? Crossing over might not be the best option for me as I an on the older side (approaching 30) and 2.5 years without income will affect my dependents.

Encash leave

For those not on holiday scheme (i.e. HQ officers), what's the daily rate for encashing leave if unable to clear all leave before leaving?

Resumption of physical meetings

Sigh, I was informed that this term staff meeting will be physical, can I check whether is it the same for all other schools?

Is it a MOE instruction that zoom meetings are no longer allowed?

Most schools are starting to resume f2f meetings. Even cohort assemblies. MOE will usually not mandate but they probably have informed schools to slowly introduced physical meetings at a stepwise calibrated approach.

Why do they still want to subject all teachers to stay in one venue and suffer thru endless speeches?

Isn't that one good lesson we should pick up from the pandemic?

My school has been doing safe-distanced f2f meetings since 5 pax resumed, and now mass f2f meetings since relaxation of SMMs.

We've not had a Zoom meeting in a looooong time. I miss those.
