CS claims that salaries are pegged to certain private sector benchmarks in order to be competitive. Don't detract from the main point.

Nobody joins teaching (or the many other important jobs that pay stupidly low) for BIG bucks, but workload and responsibility levels have to be equitably compensated for.

CS is a big organisation and is slow and beuracratic . keeping pace with market conditions is never their strength. sad
