OP here. I got Bs in school before HQ, got Bs in HQ too. But still no progression lol

Really not sure how progression goes.
2015 was when i first joined HQ as GEO 3 through OPE. I had C, given by school. Before that were 3 Bs.
2016 got GEO 4 and C+.
2017 still in HQ and got C+.
2018 went back to sch as SH. Got a C from HQ.
2019 and 2020 were Bs and got GEO 5.
So I don’t really know how promotion and progression work

Yeah i see people getting promoted in HQ. My assumption was one year aft being in HQ, coz at that time, in my div, it seems that most GEO 3s and 4s who came in with my at the same time, got promoted a year later together.
But I don’t know the situation nowadays.

I got a C+ in HQ. Was newly promoted to SEO1 when I was Y1 in HQ and was grateful my director did not give me the default C in Y2. Went back to school for 2 years and got promoted to SEO2. There was 4 years spacing between my SEO1 and 2

Not uncommon. Definitely harder (though not impossible) to perform above average - many of the HQ colleagues were B-graders in school, too.

If it's just a temporary stop for you, the experience should still be a useful one for long-term progression, especially if you return to school as KP…

I got promoted to GEO3 last October, but when I received my PB, it was a default C. My RO told me that it's because they were ranking me with the rest of the GEO3 officers hence default grade. Wth isn't this unfair and shorrchanging me since ranking is done in Aug? Any place I can appeal pb ranking?
