With the declining childbirth and school mergers, it is quite clear that MOE has taken the stand that "the current pay conditions of teachers are competitive enough for us to retain sufficient numbers".
Thus, the last nation wide increase in pay took place way back in 2015. It is not surprising all promotions are also slowed.

Such a silliy question. You can't compare like that as it depends on grade..

The problem is that they treat every 'number' as equal in value to the service, which is really not true. We want transformation, fresh ideas, new perspectives, yet we hinder the progression of the fresh blood who still have a long runway and have sufficient buffer to make a career switch. Like the earlier poster said - the best ones will have no shortage of opportunities outside.
For how long can we depend on their passion and inner fire to retain them in the service? Do we want the next generation of senior management to be mediocre yes-men with little outstanding talent? If the HR policies continue like that, maybe that is an inevitable future.

Any idea what level of the leaders and what kind of questions they値l be asking when I知 being interviewed for the open posting. Many thanks from the exhausted BT who has been travelling like crazy for the past one year or so.

Open posting exercise will happen in Term 3. Circulars and notifications will be sent out before June holidays. In the past, one could view posting advertisements in HRMS and Intranet, but now I believe they will be using HRP (to be confirmed).
Note that you need to have completed 2 full years in your first school (and 3 years in subsequent schools) before you are eligible. This excludes practicum.

Currently SEO2, HOD appointment of non IP subject, for 7 years. P recently ask me if I want to make way for leadership renewal. What does this mean? CEP drop? No potential for higher appointments?
