If one's salary is at geo 3 ceiling already, how many more years does one have to wait for be promoted to geo 4 with C grading?

Wait till your school push you for promotion.
If not continue to stagnant.

The advice is for you to not to go into teaching blindly out of what one deems as his or her passion or for the money, which at $3k+ is no doubt very attractive with the current events. Nobody know nobody here but depending on who you are and your backgound, your experience as a teacher can turn out to be great or downright shitty.
While more stellar candidates are being selected to teach, it doesnt mean that all of them survive for long either. There are cases of ex-students of top sec schs and JCs with good degrees, posted to neighbourhood schools, and for lack of a clearer term, end up quitting during practicum / a year into service because they found the students too dumb for someone of their calibre. With stellar backgrounds, grades and ability to convince interviewers about their passion to teach, getting the job wasn't difficult, but ultimately, passion alone didnt suffice. LIquidated damages are around $100k btw, and higher for BA programme.
You cant choose a specific school or the background of your students. You can't choose who their parents are or their life experiences. This is just about students, you still have colleagues, bossess, parents, outsiders, etc
So, dont go in with your eyes closed or believing moe recruitment ads wholesale.
Try relief teaching in a few schools first. If you like it, apply for a teaching position. If relief teaching is hell, then turn, run away and dont look back.

Practicum is the most basic thing a teacher must be able to do. Usually if fail, you are allowed to redo at a different school, but salary is suspended. If fail again, you will be dismissed and must payback the LD. Even teachers recruited from overseas have failed their practicum and had to go back to their home country, with a huge LD debt.
