Jaded because of not being promoted? If you go up to geo 4 and not meet the kra, would you rather have stayed put at geo 3 and have less responsibilities? I have seen mid career JH who went to geo 5 within a couple of years and every year, without fail, will be at at risk of C-/D. Is that better or worst? Ultimately, while I agree that $ is important, you will need passion in this job.

I think you are missing the point. The person has hit ceiling and thus is feeling jaded. How would you feel if you have been putting in effort yet your pay is cap? Furthermore the person has been in Geo 3 for almost 7 years. That’s a long time. If he/she has not done anything wrong, then the system is not doing him/her justice by capping his/her salary. There needs to be progression in order for people to feel motivated. Stagnant salary and passion cannot be found in the same equation.

The thing is, even as GEO3, it is easy for you to be ranked down to a C-. I've seen people getting C- not doing anything wrong, doing his or her job as given, and teaching graduating class with fairly decent or good results.

Yes, I realise that teachers have a rather unique skill set which is valuable in mostly just education and training sectors. Even within that, there are limitations, it depends on what you are training and your current post. If you are simply an ordinary teacher, there really are very few alternative employments which value what a teacher can contribute to the organization despite us taking on all kinds of ad-hoc roles.

We organize and plan events, but to be an event planner for example is still quite a far fetch concept.

Try applying for open posting. Either get a HQ stint or change school. This will help you move faster as well since you will be changing bosses.

What do you teach? To be honest, I think it's difficult for teachers to change career and expect same pay. Our "skills" and "knowledge" does not command that much in the real working world.

Because simply doing your job is a D according to the grading system. You can read that online. You need to think of how to value add to your job. Teaching graduating class or not does not really matter.

I can confidently say I deliver my KRAs. :)

SLs will not explicitly tell you that you will no longer in the runway. But coming from HQ, I know the whole pathway is stuck. There is a formula beyond CEP (e.g if the EO on normal teaching scholar vis-a-vis overseas scholar, is the EO under TDU's radar, how many schools have the EO been too)

To be selected for VP interview, teachers in FLP will be selected first, which gives non-scholars hardly a chance.

I reckoned that you just went for the interview.. that's how I landed up in this thread.
I read from the earliest post.
One person posted it's $300 per month but it's only given at the end of the year..
